The study was conducted at Kuala Lipis and Bukit Ibam where both are iron-ore mining sites. Four sampling locations were identified in Kuala Lipis while another four sampling sites were in Bukit Ibam. These iron mines are one of the top producers of iron in the state of Pahang as early as in the 1960s [10].
The mining areas included seven selected locations in the vicinity of active and abandoned iron ore-mining sites in Pahang, Malaysia. Heavy metals such as Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Co, Pb, Cr, Ni, and Cd and metalloid As were present in the mining soils of the studied area, while Cu was found exceeding the soil guideline value at all sampling locations.
